As described in [@nolleDeepAlignAlignmentbasedProcess2020], in the context of Business Process Management, processes are used as a tool for defining, documenting and controlling business processes inside companies.
Each process is stored into a database, and it logs informations such as when it was executed, what activity it relates to and to which business case it belongs. These information can be digested with process mining algorithm, which combine it into a single data structure called an event log.
Event logs can then be analyzed in order to discover patterns.
